ROWAN HAYSOM BAS B.Arch RIBA
Rowan read architecture at the University of Cape
Town, South Africa, where he won the national award
for the best architectural design thesis of the year.
He settled in the UK in 1993. Past experience
includes working with the Fitzroy Robinson
Partnership in London, Freeland Rees Roberts
Architects in Cambridge, and with Patrick Ward, as
well as running his own practice. Rowan has now been
working in Cambridge for the last 9 years. He has
acted as project architect and lead consultant on
projects up to the value of £2m. Whilst with Freeland
Rees Roberts, he designed the internal public spaces,
gallery and auditorium for the Magdalene College
Cripps Court, and the was project architect for the
new Gunn Library for Peterhouse .
Rowan has a keen interest in sustainable
architecture, is a member of the Association for
Environment Conscious Buildings, and has had work
published in their journal, Building
For a Future.
Rowan has, in the past, been a supervisor for
students at the Cambridge School of Architecture. He
is a governor at the Lantern Primary School in Ely,
and a trustee for ADeC (Arts Development in East
Cambridgeshire).
